"I believe deeply in our innate ability to heal and transform. While we all struggle at some point, we don’t have to do it alone. I would be honored to work with you as a support and a resource along your personal journey."
Lily French is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, and Certified Sound Healer with over 20 years experience supporting people’s self-care, healing, and wellness. She has been a faculty member at the University of Iowa School of Social Work since 2012 and at Windemere Institute of Healing Arts from 2005-2011.
As a holistic psychotherapist, my practice honors the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. As a way of helping people heal at a deeper and more lasting level, I use talk therapy and a variety of mind-body techniques. I commonly support people in: recovery from loss or trauma, building resilience in the face of stress and hardship, replacing limiting beliefs, modifying behaviors that no longer serve them, and creating more joy and peace in their lives. However, the specific focus of our work is determined by you and each session is tailored toward your goals. We do this work as a team, where I serve as a resource and facilitator for your process, but ultimately the journey and experience is your own.
My person-centered approach integrates Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment, Narrative, and Solution-Focused therapies. Holistic techniques (such as toning, breathwork, guided meditation, Reiki, sound healing, and sonic EFT) are primarily used to achieve relaxation, release blockages, restore harmony, access your body’s wisdom, and/or reinforce your goals.
Clients describe me as warm, easy to talk with, supportive, and calming. They value feeling accepted and understood when exploring sensitive issues in their lives.
