Approach & Specialities

As a clinician, I look forward to learning about what’s important to you and discovering together how to incorporate your values into your daily life. Clients describe me as nonjudgmental and empathetic.

I specialize in treating substance use, depression, anxiety and trauma. I recognize that we all develop adaptive ways of coping with hardships such as stress, trauma, grief and loss that may not serve us in living the life we desire. I utilize a person-centered approach to develop alongside you different ways of managing emotions that allows you to live life not dictated by fear or avoidance. I won’t tell you how to think, act or feel. I will tailor coping strategies to your needs utilizing concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Integrated Harm Reduction Psychotherapy. I believe in collaboration and look forward to working with you.

Training

I have been serving members of the Iowa City community since 2017, ranging in issues from substance use, housing insecurity, mental health and advocacy. I am a graduate of the University of Iowa’s Masters of Social Work program.
